Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Karim Sarafraz, the representative of the Supreme Leader in the Greater Tehran Corps of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has published an essay explaining the roots of American hostility toward the Iranian people. The full text follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
America's hostility toward the Iranian people is not a political dispute or a product of changing administrations and ruling factions in Washington; it is rooted in the domineering nature of the arrogant system and in the Iranian people's insistence on independence, dignity, and the right to self-determination.
From the 1953 coup and the plundering of national resources to support for Saddam Hussein's Baathist regime, unjust sanctions, the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani, and military aggression — all are links in the chain of American hostility toward the Iranian people. Historical experience has shown that the core issue for the hegemonic system is not a particular government or political faction, but the very principle of Iran's independence and authority.
Knowing the Enemy: A Prelude to Smart Confrontation
The message of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, on the occasion of the National Day of Struggle Against Global Arrogance highlights a strategic truth: the Iranian people must not make miscalculations in identifying the enemy.
Hoping for a change in the nature of arrogance through concessions and retreat means ignoring the historical experience of the Iranian people. An enemy that seeks Iran's unconditional surrender will not be stopped by concessions; rather, it will view retreat as an opportunity for further maximalism.
Defensive Strength: The Guarantor of National Security and Deterrence
The emphasis by the Commander-in-Chief, Imam Khamenei, on smart combat readiness, immediate and effective response to threats, and the strengthening of defense capabilities demonstrates the necessity of maintaining comprehensive readiness against any enemy adventure.
Strengthening indigenous technologies, enhancing intelligence and defense capabilities, increasing the readiness of the armed forces, and updating deterrence capacities send a clear message: Iran's security and territorial integrity are not negotiable, and any aggression will be met with a decisive response.
Iran's power is not limited to military capability. National unity, social capital, public trust, scientific progress, economic independence, and jihadi management are complementary pillars of the Islamic Republic's authority.
Just as the Supreme Leader emphasizes national support for the armed forces, officials must also strengthen the popular foundation of the country's authority through sincere service, attention to people's livelihoods, the fight against corruption, and the promotion of social justice.
The Steadfastness of the Resistance Front
The steadfastness of the Resistance Front — from Palestine and Lebanon to Iraq and Yemen — reflects the importance of solidarity among independent nations against the hegemony of foreign powers.
The future of West Asia must be shaped by the peoples of the region, not by powers that have imposed their interests on the security and independence of nations for decades. The formation of a just and independent regional order requires the convergence of Islamic nations and governments and confrontation with the enemy's divisive policies.
Anti-arrogance is not a temporary or occasional slogan; it is a strategic logic for safeguarding independence, dignity, and national interests.
Today, the country's fundamental strategy must rest on three pillars:
Defensive strength and smart deterrence, national unity and cohesion, and comprehensive progress and the building of a strong Iran. The Iranian people have paid a price for their independence and will not allow the great achievements of the Islamic Revolution to be sacrificed to the maximalism of enemies.
A strong Iran, a united people, smart enemy-identification, and powerful resistance — this is the enduring logic of anti-arrogance.
"Indeed, falsehood was bound to perish." (Quran 17:81)
